Amaco Kiln Ice - KI-21 Winter Glass (16oz)

KI-21 Winter Glass is a pastel, frosty blue.

The Kiln Ice glazes are modeled after traditional Guan or Snowflake glazes. They feature a delicate network of fine hairline cracks (known as “crazing”). Kiln Ice glazes are translucent, but become slightly opaque where the cracks form, creating a beautiful, multi-layered visual texture. Differences in glaze application and firing technique may affect end results.

These glazes are food safe, but due to durability, they are not recommended for food surfaces. Due to variations in raw materials used during manufacturing, we recommend firing glazed test tiles before using each new batch number of glaze.

Thumbnail images are shown on AMACO No.32 Dark Chocolate clay, fired to cone 5. 

It is recommended to use  stoneware or black clay with grog, as the effect is better. Porcelain clay is not advised, since the crackle glaze is less noticeable.
